The City of Pasig is a first-class, highly urbanized city situated in Metro Manila. It houses more than 750,000 residents and is governed by Mayor Vico Sotto with Vice Mayor Christian Bernardo.

Plume Labs indicated that the city maintained an averageof 32 Air Quality Index (AQI) as of 16 April with eight PM2.5 and 13 PM10 present in the area. The LGU of Pasig was coined by UNFCCC as “A Smart City with a Green Heart.” The city shows low carbon initiatives such as Car-less Weekends Program and Pasig Green Bike Share Program to encourage Pasigueños to participate in creating an inclusive, sustainable environment for all. Furthermore, Pasig City is advocating for lower Greenhouse Gas Emissions that could benefit not just for climate action, but for industry and commerce as well. There is also an existing Local Green Building Ordinance and Rainwater Catchment Ordinance in promotion of an efficient and sustainable community. The Promotion of Low Carbon Urban Transport Systems in the Philippines (LCT) Project collaborates consistently with the LGU in formulating ideas to reduce carbon emissions.
