Policies Related to the Promotion of Low Carbon Urban Transport Systems in the Philippines

To speed up the process of improving the transport system and to reduce GHG emissions, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Republic of the Philippines, through the Department of Transportation (DOTr) is working on the ‘Promotion of Low Carbon Urban Transport Systems in the Philippines’ (LCT) Project.

The LCT Project compiled a list of relevant laws, policies and issuances in the Philippines that support the creation of an enabling environment for low carbon transport systems (e.g., electric and hybrid vehicles) in the Philippines. The Project also highlights the importance of learning good practices and sustainable transport policy-making from other countries, following the global agenda towards sustainable development.
